City Connect Adds Six New Languages to the UrbanOS

Managing a city centre, BID, or municipality means working with people from many different backgrounds and, increasingly, across languages. City Connect has just expanded UrbanOS to support 23 languages in total, adding six new ones: Catalan, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Norwegian, and Portuguese.

Why language support matters for urban management platforms

Platform adoption depends on how quickly people feel comfortable using a tool. When UrbanOS is available in someone's native language, navigation feels natural from the first login, with no translation layer slowing things down.

For BID managers and municipality teams, this has a practical impact. Members submit requests more readily, respond to updates faster, and engage more consistently when the interface speaks their language. Less friction means more participation.

What's new in UrbanOS

Six additional languages are now live across the platform:

  • Catalan
  • Danish
  • Estonian
  • Finnish
  • Norwegian
  • Portuguese

This brings the total to 23 supported languages, covering a wide range of communities and markets across Europe and beyond.

All 23 languages supported in UrbanOS

Coming soon: Auto translations in UrbanOS

Beyond UI language preferences, City Connect is building Auto translations, a feature designed to close the communication gap when teams and members are writing in different languages.

Here's what it will do:

  • Translate community posts and updates so members can read what urban management teams share in their own language.
  • Translate member questions and requests so teams can respond quickly, even when messages come in from multiple languages.
  • Translate submitted reports so urban managers always have the context they need to act fast.
